Our Story

In 2009, Beatrice Yuma began working as a solo provider through the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD). After many years in the field, interactions with individuals, their families, and their support system, Serenity of Mind was established in 2016. The idea was birthed out of the need for services to be provided to individuals in a way that they feel loved, appreciated, respected, and heard.

 

Many individuals that have presented behaviors, have experienced dramatic transformations as a result of the way we deliver our services. Our goal has always been to provide structure, supported by truly caring for the well-being of the individuals served. The agency begun with Life Skills Development level1(Companionship), then Personal Supports, Respite and eventually Residential Rehabilitation.

 

We strive to advocate for the rights and choices of the individual. Along with creating an environment of inclusion, safety, respect, dignity, self-direction and satisfaction. We are pleased to see the growth of this agency and we look forward to continually serving our community. Serenity of Mind, translates to Peace of Mind. This drives the feeling we seek to establish in the individuals we serve, their families, and support team.
